Well, it is 2011 already.  It seemed like yesterday when we were celebrating 2010’s arrival, and now it is already history.  I hope you all had very nice Christmas and New Year celebrations, and you are ready to approach 2011, with vigor and excitement.  I also hope that in your list of New Year’s Resolutions that you included “I resolve to participate more at the IACS in 2011 and to take full advantage of my membership there.”

Looking back at 2010, it was another year of excitement and disappointment.  Nonna’s Nite continues to draw a nice number of attendee’s, and the changes we made appear to be drawing new people to the Center.  Our Members’ night has grown some, and it seems to be moving forward too.  Our big changes included the addition of a weekly Car Show in the summer months and the addition of live entertainment on one of the Tuesday nights each month.  Our Festa Italiana was affected by weather, but those who attended said it was another well done event.

This coming year marks the 150th Anniversary of the merger of the provinces into the Republic of Italy as we now know it.   A celebration of that event is in the planning stages right now, and we will keep you informed as to when it will be celebrated.
Be sure to attend our Annual meeting on January 16th and get a report of what the latest news is regarding your center. 

One last item, our Italian Language classes have grown and are expecting to grow even more as we go into 2011.  Now is the time to enroll yourself or your children into this program.  It is your heritage – do not let us lose it.

Let’s all work together to make 2011 the biggest year ever for our IACS.  It is really up to YOU!  I am always ready to listen to suggestions on what we can do to improve, and I want you to know that our Directors are also open to any and all suggestions.
